Preheat the oven to 190°c
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt
In another bowl, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Beat in the eggs
Gradually beat in the flour and stir in the chocolate chips (or other additions)
Roll out the dough into a 2” sausage shape, wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge
Cut the log into 2cm slices and lay on a greased baking tray, widely spaced
Bake for 9 – 11min
